Robert Singleton Hilburn

Robert Singleton Hilburn,

born Sep 27 1846 in Fort Shelton?, Lamar Co, Tx.

died May 6 1948 Graham, Young Co, Tx.

This photo was taken in the 1930s, probably in Lamar County or Young County Texas. It was scanned at my mom’s years ago and is the only picture we have of him that I know of.

Robert was a son of Francis Hilburn and Marietta Shelton. He served as a Confederate soldier in the Civil War, enlisting at age 15. He was discharged later that year on account of age then re-enlisted, unknown date, serving until end of the war. He married Nancy J McMurtry Dec 4 1874 in Barry Co, Mo and had 4 children that I’m aware of.

He was a son of my 3rd ggrandparents.

I purchased a postcard in 2009 at a store in Florida. It has a picture of Detroit Michigan on the front and it was mailed on September 27 1939 to "Robert Singleton, Graham, Texas". The sender did not put a name on it but the address it was mailed from is 3135 Shakespeare, East Detroit, Michigan. Is this the same Robert Singleton Hilburn?
