Howell Richard "Rich" Moss

Howell Richard "Rich" Moss born 6/13/1833 in North Carolina and died 1/3/1886-Somervell Co, Texas, buried Lantham Mills Cemetery, Somervell County Texas.
He was a Texas Ranger. He was also a 1st Lt Co E 19 Texas Calvary in the Civil War. This picture was taken around the time he went into the Civil War. He originally settled in Parker County, Texas prior to 1860 (exact date came to Texas is unknown). He married Margaret Caroline Porter in Parker Co, Texas.
His children were Robert Alexander (Bob) Moss born 3/17/1859 - married Dora Bell Hamberlin; Lucy Ellen (Lute) Moss born 1861-married William henderson Harragan; James Richard Moss born 1/14/1864 - married Tennie Ladora Francis;William Boone Moss born 7/15/1865 - married Lellah Rook Hamberlin; and Mary Elizabeth Moss born 4/16/1869 - married James Argile Robinson (my grandmother's parents).
The original tin type of this picture was in the museum at Glen Rose, Texas (unknown if still is).
