Medal presented to the family of Cpl. John R. Bogard (1821-1864) of Doddridge Co., WV, who died a prisoner of war at Andersonville Prison, Andersonville GA. This medal was formerly in the possession of the late Raymond G. Hill, his grandson, of Parkersburg WV.

In doing my research, I have found that my great great great grandmother's name was Louise Bogard; and she married a James Coleman. I am just wondering if you had some decendency of this John R. Bogard, so that If he was a relative of mine; I could make the connection. Thanks~ Jackson Edward Wilson

My husband is the great-great grandson of John Bogard. I have photos of several of the family members. If I can be of help, I am happy to do so. I am afraid that I do not have a photo of John. I wish I did. I live in Doddridge County, WV.
