He was buried in Dawson Cemetery, Dawson, IA. He was the son of Daniel Perry Brobst and Maria Anna Brobst. </p> <p>He married Elizabeth Patterson 1853, daughter of Thomas Patterson and Sarah Ann Slove. She was born 18 Jul 1833 in Pocono Twp, Monroe Co, PA, and died 22 Nov 1912 in Jamiaca, Guthrie Co, IA. She was buried in Dawson Cemetery, Dawson, IA.</p> <p>Daniel enlisted as a Private in Company B, 39th Infantry Regiment Iowa on 26 Aug 1862, during the Civil War.
