Ira Lewis Workman, known to friends and family as Lewis, born June 16, 1895 at Omar, WV, he was the son of Jacob "Jake" Workman and Nancy Ann Farley and the grandson of Nimrod Workman and Sabra Evans.

Siblings of Lewis are Landon, Samuel, Vicey, Grover and Wilburn Workman.

Ira Lewis Workman was born June 16, 1895 at Omar, Logan County, WV and he died May 23, 1946 at Elk Creek, Delbarton, Mingo County, WV, buried at Elk Creek; The son of Jacob "Jake" Workman born 1869 in WV and Nancy Ann Farley born 1869 in WV.

Frances Ball born Jan. 15, 1903 at Irish Creek, Lawrence County, KY; died June 16, 1978 in Mingo County, WV; buried at Elk Creek, Delbarton, Mingo County, WV; the daughter of Lewis Edward Ball and Elizabeth Young.

Ira Lewis Workman and Frances Ball were married September 10, 1918 at Chauncy, WV. They were the parents of:

* Douglas "Doug" Workman born June 6, 1919 died Dec. 1984
* Samuel "Sam" Workman born Nov. 11, 1921 died Sept. 26, 1979
* Luther Workman born Feb. 22, 1924 died Dec. 1982 in Vinton, OH
* Lora Workman Jewell born May 25, 1930 died July 23, 2003
* and four living chldren.
