Florimond Laurent and Irma Hontoir arrived in the United States around 1890. He was, like many Belgians, a glass-blower.

Grant Fredrick McMahon, born June 22, 1923, Bolivar, PA, died March 3, 1999, Haida Manor, Hastings, PA, buried March 6, 1999, Fort Palmer Cemetery.

He was the son of Peter William McMahon and Maude Ann James McMahon, and married married to Florence Marie Short McMahon. They became the parents of eight children - four girls and four boys. The family lived in Tarentum, PA.

Grant worked for the Tarentum Boro and was a World War II Army Veteran.
