Thomas Jefferson McGarvin, born Aug 27, 1871, Hamilton Co., MO, married Elizabeth Ann Miller in Clinton OK. Died Jan 24, 1952 in Wadsworth, KS.

He enlisted on Jun 25, 1898 and served with Co. D 3rd Regiment Missouri during the Spanish American War.

The other gentleman is unknown.

Charles Medley Taggart, Senior - Spanish American War

Charles M. Taggart, Sr. of Deerfield, Portage, Ohio, served in the U.S. Army, 6th U.S. Cavalry, Troop I from 1898-1899 during the Spanish American War. He did not see fighting in Cuba. He later did a tour of duty at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Even though Charles M. Taggart had never met, "Boss" Mark Hanna, he wrote to then-U.S. Senator Hanna (R-OH) asking to be discharged from the military. His request was granted.

Harry E. Hentzell

Harry E. Hentzell (1879-1937) was a native of Canton, Ohio, who served in Cuba during the Spanish-American War with Troop L, Seventh U. S. Cavalry. After the war he settled in Berkeley, California, where he spent the rest of his life working as a teamster and a fireman. In 1901, he married Olga Zerwer, and they had two children, Edwin and Ruth.

James Oscar Campbell

James Oscar Campbell was the Professor of History and Political Science at Westminster College in 1912.

He attended Mt. Union College and Harvard. He served in the Spanish American War as the chaplain of the 8th Ohio Volunteers. He began his professorship at Westminster in 1903.
