Anderson, Rose Flora Diantha (Tibbetts), possibly Rose Flora Diantha (Tibbetts) Clarke

I believe this photo of my grandmother Rose Anderson was taken when she was about 16 years old. I believe Rose died of tuberculosis at Glencliff Sanitarium in 1936 or 1938. I would love to learn more about her. My mother primarily lived at the Rolf and Rumford Home orphanage. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Tibbetts Family photo (Rose Flora Diantha Tibbetts is fourth from the right)

This is a photo of the Tibbetts family that lived in Merrimack County, New Hampshire (Glencliff and/or Grafton areas, I believe). The script on the reverse states Rose is the fourth child from the right (please DO include the photo of the child that is partially cut off as part of the count). I am still working on Tibbetts genealogy and can't say for certain who the others are but can hazard a guess. (If anyone has good information, I'd appreciate hearing from you. I will likely add more names to this photo at a later date.) Rose was my mother's (Jeanette May Clarke's) mother. Rose died of tuberculosis in 1936 or 1938, probably at Glencliff Sanitarium. My mother was a boarder with the Cross family and later went to foster homes and then to Rolf and Rumford Home (orphanage)in Concord. I am eager for and would be grateful for any information. Thanks!

Anderson, Rose (aka Rose Flora Diantha (Tibbetts) Anderson, possibly .... (Tibbetts) Clarke

This is the grandmother I never met as she died of tuberculosis (I believe) in either 1936 or 1938, probably at Glencliff Sanitarium. This photo was taken on the Glencliff grounds. Her daughter (my mother, Jeanette May Clarke) was placed in foster homes and then at Rolf and Rumford Home in Concord, New Hampshire. I'm told my mother had a half-brother and some aunts in town but apparently they didn't want to have anything to do with her. I'm guessing Rose was not married to my mother's father, Maurice Clarke and may have still been married to Elmer Anderson when my mother was born. Times have changed and I hope there is someone willing to come forward with the family history. I have precious little information and have been unable to locate a birth certificate for my mother or even official acknowledgment she existed.

Anderson, Rose Flora Diantha (Tibbetts)

This is a photo of my mother's (Jeanette May Clarke's) mother, Rose Anderson (possibly Rose Clarke). Rose lived in Merrimack County, New Hampshire - possibly Glencliff or Grafton or both. She was hospitalized with tuberculosis at Glencliff Sanitarium and possibly died there. I believe she died in 1936 or 1938 but have precious little information as my mother was placed to be boarded with the Cross family and then went to various foster homes and finally to Rolf and Rumford Home in Concord. If there is anyone out there who can provide me with some family history I would be ever grateful. Thanks.

Anderson, Rose Flora Diantha (Tibbetts) - possibly Rose Flora Diantha (Tibbetts) Clarke

This photo had to be taken sometime prior to 1936 or 1938 as I believe Rose had tuberculosis and died at Glencliff Sanitarium sometime after this was taken. Rose is the dark-haired woman on the left and I BELIEVE the woman on the right is a "Miss Metrick." Rose was my mother's (Jeanette May Clarke's) biological mother. I remain unclear as to whether my mother was placed as a boarder with the Cross family (see 1930 census)because Rose was unable to care for her or if it was because the birth was a family embarassment. I have never been able to find a birth certificate for my mother and truly don't know if she was a Clarke (Maurice Clarke) or an Anderson (Elmer Anderson). She was essentially orphaned and spent most of her adolescent life at Rolf and Rumford Home in Concord. If anyone can shed some light on this mystery, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Davis, Dick, David and Dorice

My understanding is that my mother (Jeanette May Clarke) boarded with the Cross family after she was born and was then placed in a series of foster homes. At one time my mother fostered with Edna and Freeman Hewey before landing at the Rolf and Rumford Home for orphans. This is a photo of Edna Hewey's daughter (Dorice) and Dorice's family. Dorice would have been about 47 years old when this photo was taken at Easter 1962.
